2025 HHSA Women's Regatta

2025 HHSA Women's Regatta
Saturday, July 12, 2025
Herring Bay, Maryland

The regatta is one of the only events on the Chesapeake Bay that is for just women sailors.  It's a wonderful one day, three race regatta with all women skippers and crew.  Get your team together, get registered and we will see you out there.

This event is for experienced and novice racers.  Our mission is that everyone steps up and does something they haven't done before.  Maybe you've raced but never skippered, maybe you're a cruiser and haven't raced.  This day is for all of you!  To build the next generation of sailors, this year we encourage all boats to bring a junior sailor (7-18) onboard.

This space is the hub for all information about the event as well as regatta prep events.  Need some crew? Email us!  Want some more information? Email us!  In the meantime, get out and find all your great women sailing friends and get your team together.

Any questions please email womenunderway@hhsa.org

Crew Available

Crew Name       Contact Experience
Holly Marken 443-994-6873 Raced previously and have done some sailing since but have taken a break to raise family.  Used to do foredeck on a J24, spin trim and J30 and various other nights of sailing with friends.  AYC Wednesday races, SSA Thursday nights and Friday nights on a Catalina 27.
Nancy Eyl nancy.eyl@gmail.com I have years of experience cruising but have never raced and have gaps in my sailing knowledge. I am very eager to learn and would be happy with any role. I usually handle the jib on our yawl.
Amanda Atwell  abatwell1@gmail.com  I have raced for 9 seasons including 4 seasons as pit on a Beneteau 30, 2 seasons headsail/pit/floater on a J/30, and 3 seasons headsail/pit on a Cat 30, including this season. I recently completed 3 races on a C&C 44 at the mast. I co-own a Jeanneau 379. I love being out on the water and learning new things.  I'm excited about the prospect to race with an all female team.
JR Futcher 302-645-8829 I have lifelong sailing and racing across multiple fleets.  Recently trained in US Sailing Instructor.  Strengths are spinnaker and jib trim and helm.
Kathy Jordan kmjsail30@gmail.com Sailed most of my life out of Annapolis.  I was a skipper at the DSC for three years.  Have done races to St Michaels, Wednesday and Friday night races in Annapolis.
Email womenunderway@hhsa.org with best contact and short outline of your experience to be listed as interested in crewing. Skippers can reach out if they need crew. Please let us know if you find a spot so we can remove you.
