About this event
Sail to Kent Island with your fellow sailors. Jim Suhr V/C (S/V Suhr la Mer) is your host. The marina can be found on docwa.com or by phone.
There are two routes to Kent Narrows, around the northern part of the island, and from the south under the bridge connecting the island to the Eastern shore.
Northern Route

The longer of the two routes, it's approximately 36 miles from Herring Bay, you sail under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge around the northern tip of Kent Island. You'll encounter deeper water and easier approach from the Chester river to the marina.
Southern Route

The shorter of the two routes, it's approximately 27 miles from Herring Bay. You'll encounter more current and shoaling to pass under the bridge connecting Kent Island to the Eastern Shore.
Jim will host a "skippers" meeting at the Beach Boys Dock Hop on Friday to answer any questions. He will create a text messaging group, and monitor channel 16 then 68 on Saturday morning. He plans to leave Herring Bay at 9:30 Saturday sailing the southern route.
Meet for cocktails at "
The Big Owl" tiki bar Saturday at 5pm. Lots of restaurants in walking distance of the marina. While on the water, use your boat's radio to communicate.
