Racing Crew Finder

Crew Available for Wednesday Night Series
Author Last Post

Hello Robert, sounds like you might be looking for some experienced racers to glean skills off of. While I might not fit that mold, I am looking for crew for the Wednesday night series. Not sure if you saw the thread I started looking for crew, but the short of it is that we're newer sailors (wife and I) and lack race experience. I am looking to build a crew of all skill sets and like to think we would create a fun atmosphere while we all learn a thing or two about going around the cans.

Boat is a 2023 Dehler 38SQ with all the go fast bits I could stick on her outside of the crab pot magnet torpedo keel. We have an assym which checks that box for you, but no symmetrical spinnaker and likely don't plan on running one.

If any of that sounds interesting to you, shoot me a text or call

Experienced cruising sailor looking to build current racing experience. I have extensive coastal sailing time and some offshore passages, but last raced in my youth and intercollegiate one-design days. Now retired, I own an Ericson 28 and have single-handed 1,200 miles in the last two years. The gap in my current experience that I'd like to fill is racing rules and tactics and using off-wind sails (spinnakers and asymmetrics).

I hold a USCG master license and am an ASA instructor. I may not be available for every Wednesday during the series, but should be able to make most of the dates.

I look forward to speaking with interested racers who could use a reliable deckhand. 571-215-9251; best to text me first.

Thank you.
