Posting the revised version with the Spinnaker start time of 18:51. This did not change the finishing order for any of the boats. However, the competitive class results have changed, with Spin being first and NS-Cruising second.

Jim

I don't think this change will affect anyone's place, but since we're using ToT we should be accurate on race times.

AP came down at 18:45 for spin, with class flag up at 18:46 and start at 18:51.

I know there was a postponement after spin before NS-R, but spin started at 18:51.

Short video of us discussing w/ Knot Home the timing discrepancy.

Full video of the start.

This 8 minute video started at 18:45. Forty nine seconds in, they announce, "Spin prep up in 10," which would suggest an 18:50 start.  But a minute later (1:52 in the video) they announce, "...up in 5, 4, 3, 2 1."  Immediately afterwards, we discuss our confusion over the time.

At 2:30 in the video I'm re-starting our race timer to match the 18:51 start.  At 3:08 in the video, we discuss with Knot Home the timing, and agree the start is in 2:40.

At 4:50 in the video they announce "Papa Down in 5, 4..."  Papa came down at 18:50, with the start at 18:51 (5:58 in the video).  You can see the mark and our relative position to the RaceQs image w/ the 18:51 time stamp.

Our race timer at the finish, 5 seconds before the hail of, 'over:'

Hi folks:

The correct times are below. There was a problem with our timer so we had to do the delay.

Spin - 18:50

NS-R - 19:00

NS-C = 19:05

Mark

Thanks Kevin.

Hopefully, someone from the RC that night can chime in about the start times. From the sign-in sheet, they appear as follows:

Spin - 18:50 (it could also be 18:51)

NS-R - 19:00 (a little unclear)

NS-C = 19:05 (very clear)

Jim

Actually there was an extra gap between spin and NS racing for a sequence restart.

Jim,

I think the start times are off by a minute. AP came down at 18:45, so spinnaker started at 18:51, NS-racing 18:56, and cruising 19:01.

Thanks,

Kevin

Racers,

The last Wednesday night race of the 2024 season looked at first like it might not happen. Fortunately, the wind started really picking up after some of the boats started racing. Thanks to Kevin and his team on Resilient for waiting long enough for the wind to build, and for providing that amazing sunset, too.

Preliminary results attached.

Jim
